Montreal, 14 November 2019 – BOMA Quebec was very pleased to pay tribute to firms with a strong commitment to the environment, as made apparent in many buildings in Greater Montreal. The Association presented BOMA BEST® certifications in a ceremony that took place on November 13, 2019. This industry standard is a strong indicator of the rigorous management of air quality, energy, waste materials and preventive maintenance. Certification levels are based on the score obtained by a building during an inspection carried out by an independent expert. The ceremony was held in the Jacques Parizeau Building with 120 people in attendance.

International Recognition!
The reputation of the BOMA BEST® certification program grows by leaps and bounds! In addition to some 2740 certified buildings in Quebec and across Canada, BOMA recently certified the Canadian embassy in China, and further certifications will soon take place in the U.S. and Mexico. Launched in 2000, the program is highly relevant for the commercial real estate sector, as this international expansion clearly indicates.
About BOMA BEST®
BOMA BEST® is a national program launched in 2005 by BOMA Canada. This unique and voluntary online program defines innovative and realistic standards and practices for existing commercial buildings. It is designed by the industry for the industry, and offers owners and managers a coherent framework for evaluating energy performance and environmental management in their buildings, regardless of size. BOMA BEST® is managed by BOMA Canada, in collaboration with its eleven local associations. It includes a series of common standards, educational tools and online evaluation, a rigorous data auditing process, and five levels of certification. The certification process is based on information that is independently verified. The five levels of BOMA BEST® are Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze and Certified.
