Montreal, 7 April 2022 – At the end of the BOMA Quebec annual general meeting, which took place on April 6, the outgoing president Annik Desmarteau proudly passed the torch to her successor Linda Plante, who became the 57th president of the organization and the 4th woman to hold that position.
Linda Plante is senior director of property management at the FTA development capital fund (Fonds immobilier de solidarité FTQ), where she is also senior advisor, asset management. She has more than 20 years’ experience in the commercial real estate sector working for major Canadian real estate firms as general manager and senior manager, notably her 13 years with Ivanhoe Cambridge. Over the course of her career she has directed the management activities of large-scale real estate holdings in metropolitan Montreal and Quebec City. She has managed some 10 million square feet of rental space, including the Place Ville Marie complex and World Trade Centre Montreal. Her extensive experience in real estate management is complemented by experience in asset management and operations risk management. Linda is specifically recognized for her collaborative leadership and teamwork skills.
She has been an active force in the Montreal real estate community, and a committed member of BOMA Quebec for many years. She has been a member of the board of directors since 2016, and was president of the building management committee from 2012 to 2016.
"I am honoured by this appointment. All of the people who preceded me at the helm of BOMA Quebec have done a remarkable job, especially in the last few years when the context was particularly difficult and constantly changing. In the years to come, we will continue to be a leading resource, supporting our members in every way possible, and promoting and assisting the Quebec real estate industry. It is a mandate I accept with great humility and enthusiasm. BOMA Québec is an exceptional community, and it is a privilege for me to continue my involvement now as president. I would like to thank all my colleagues for this vote of confidence," said Linda Plante.
The meeting concluded with news of upcoming events, notably the Building Energy Challenge Gala, taking place in Montreal on June 7.
