Dear Colleagues,
As this 90th anniversary year draws to a close, BOMA QUEBEC is more than ever focused on the future, looking ahead and expanding as we work on several projects and new objectives for growth, thereby raising our profile and mobilizing the industry. Over the past few months we have been developing approaches aimed at better positioning our organization, improving the quality and relevance of our activities and training courses, and implementing initiatives to make the commercial real estate industry more appealing to younger generations.
These issues are, of course, all interlinked.
Higher Profile, Greater Impact!
Over the past few months, the BOMA Quebec board of directors has been developing a comprehensive strategy aimed not only at consolidating our position in the Quebec commercial real estate sector, but also at raising the profile of both the profession and BOMA Quebec’s expertise among young professionals, students, employers and the media.
We are preparing an ambitious strategic communications plan that will allow us to occupy a more important place in the Quebec commercial real estate ecosystem.
New Initiative in 2018 – Guest Speaker Series
Our association brings together people who are passionate about property management, about improving building energy performance and implementing dynamic, responsible management plans at the economic, environmental, technological, social and human levels. These men and women contribute on a daily basis to the vitality and evolution of the industry in Montreal and all across Quebec.
Our new Guest Speakers series reflects that focus.
On February 7 the series gets underway with a presentation by Andrew Molson, a partner and chairman of the Res Publica Consulting Group, and a 7th generation member of Montreal’s renowned Molson family.
On April 12 we will have the pleasure of welcoming Kathy Baig, president of the Quebec Order of Engineers, an organization that, thanks to her leadership and vision, has come out of the biggest crisis of confidence in its history with flying colours.
Follow us on social media and keep an eye on our online calendar of events, for your association’s various committees are working very hard to organize activities and training sessions that meet the needs of members. You’ll also note a more aggressive marketing of key events. We want our efforts to raise our profile and to make significant gains in terms of attracting sponsors.
And that’s only the first step.
Upgrading our Brand Image
Some of you will have also noted that the BOMA Quebec logo has changed. While we’re all getting older, our logo is getting a youthful makeover. We are modernizing our corporate image and our graphic environment so that they better reflect and adapt to what we are and where we are headed.
This change will be introduced gradually in the coming months in our newsletter, our invitations, our website and other communication tools. You will also see a stronger BOMA Quebec presence on social media and other digital platforms.
Already very proactive, your association is reaching out more than ever to its members, its strategic partners, the real estate milieu, the business community and the media.
All in all, 2018 will be a year of renewed dynamism to promote our know-how, our projects and programs, as well as the expertise and talent of our members and the objectives of our association.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your commitment, your contributions and your presence. Thanks also to our extraordinary partners, without whom we would not be able to pursue our ambitious projects.
I wish you all a delightful holiday period with your loved ones, and look forward to seeing you in 2018!
Happy holidays!
Mario Poirier
President
